Each year, Living Magazine does a survey of its readers for various categories and presents an award to the winners. For the 2016 survey’s Healthcare category, Dr. Kimberly Cress of TMS Serenity Center in Sugar Land, Texas was awarded Best Psychiatrist in Fort Bend County. A 2015 U.S. Census estimates Fort Bend County’s population at 716,087 people. Fort Bend County is the world’s most diverse county and by proximity, is part of the Greater Houston area, which constitutes the fourth largest U.S. city at 6,650,000 people. With such a large and diverse population for Living Magazine to pull from, this is truly an honor.

For background purposes, Dr. Cress has been in private practice since January 2000 and specializes in treating mental illness patients and, in particular, those patients who suffer from depression and anxiety. This is truly a passion for her. Dr. Kimberly Cress is also at the forefront of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy treatment as well as its research and education. She recently presented research findings showing a 72.4% remission rate in treating Major Depression Disorder (MDD) patients and a 60% remission rate in treating General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) patients. TMS is FDA approved for patients who suffer from depression and have not achieved satisfactory improvements through previous antidepressant treatment.
